Fumble at the Store: Solved!

Pulling Coupons Out of WalletLike a ready athlete, you've prepared:

Your coupons are clipped.

You head to the crowded store, your pocket or purse stuffed with coupons.

You get to the shelf.

And”¦ shoot! “¦ How many of that coupon did you have? Were there size specifications?

You don't want to, but you have to. You've got to pull all those coupons out and look.

You try to pull out the wad”¦ nice and easy… but your fear manifests. You drop half of it on the floor. They flutter and scatter all over. Your confidence flees as your cheeks redden and frustration floods in.

Add these pre-shopping “game” strategies to help avoid a fumble”¦

(1) Arrange your store list.
Put your shopping list in the order of the store, to save time shopping. Consider arranging your coupons to match.

(2) Use a snap-shut pencil case, like the kind for school supplies. They are inexpensive, durable, and the perfect size to not get lost.

(3) Notate the number of coupons, and any size or variety limitations on your shopping list. Then refer to your list, instead of individual coupons. And if you run out of time before shopping, a pencil case is roomy enough to open and sort through without dropping anything.

(4) Keep an envelope in the bottom of your coupon case. Then, if you choose not to purchase something, simply slide the coupons you won't use into it. After you'veremoved coupons you won't use, you can confidently give the cashier all coupons not in the envelope.

(5)Add a small calculator, a pen, and your shopping list(s). Don't forget any extra deals or coupons you might want to use too, such as rain checks, Catalinas or special-savings coupons.
