Three Meals You Should Make This Week with These Meijer Deals

Sausage Marinara

Pantry ingredients: Garlic (2 cloves), onion.

Let's Cook!

Set a large pot of salted water on the stove to begin heating. Turn oven on to preheat for biscuits.

While water heats, set a large skillet to medium-high heat. Slice sausage into discs, and lay in skillet, browning well on both sides. Remove sausage, but keep pan and any juices. Immediately add 1/4 cup diced onion, 2 diced mini peppers, and 2 minced cloves of garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent and peppers are just beginning to brown, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and carefully add jar of pasta sauce. Add sausage back to skillet. Stir sauce and sausage often as it heats through.

Put biscuits in the oven. Don't forget to time them.

Drop pasta into boiling water. Boil just until al dente ““ about 7 minutes. Just before pasta is done, ladle about 1 cup pasta water into skillet and incorporate into sauce. Drain pasta. Add well-drained pasta to skillet, gently stirring to coat.

Serve immediately with piping hot biscuits and add fresh-baked cookies for dessert.
