How to Shop Efficiently and Safely During Black Friday 2020

It’s nearly time for the savings holiday of the year, the one we’ve all been waiting for; Black Friday. Yes, 2020 has thrown us a few curveballs, but we can still absolutely celebrate our wallet’s favorite day of the year. We just need to be a little creative and strategize our shopping plan (we do that every year, anyway!)

It’s Time to Strategize

Every year, we find out our favorite doorbusters and deals ahead of time so we can come up with our Black Friday game plan. This year should be no different.

Check out what the biggest retailers are doing this year for Black Friday. Stores like Best Buy have Black Friday sales going on all month long, every day.

Other stores are now also offering Black Friday deals online to mitigate the amount of in-store shoppers. Look high and low for the best deals and figure out what you can buy online instead of in stores. If you play your cards right, you may be able to avoid shopping in-person altogether.

Go on your favorite store websites to find out more and don’t forget to subscribe to their weekly newsletter. Their mailing list can grant you early, exclusive access to certain doorbusters depending on the store, not to mention exclusive discounts. Be on the lookout for special offers and promotions that come from being on these retailers’ mailing lists.

Prioritize

Next, prioritize what you want to purchase first. Some doorbusters, in-person and online, are limited. This means they’ll be the first and fastest to sell out. Keep your eye on these limited deals, and if you don’t know if you’ll be able to snag all of them before they sell out, make a list categorized by priority.

You may even ask your family to help out; dedicate each family member to a limited item on your list and have them wait with their browsers open and ready to purchase the item as soon as it’s available.

If you don’t have more than one computer to try and secure these items on, follow your priority list and get the most important items first.

Shopping In Stores

If you plan on shopping in stores, stay on top of store policies regarding masks, social distancing, and crowd limits. Check out their websites and social media pages to get the latest information on their in-store policies.

If you’re worried about being able to shop in person, or you think you may not make it before the store limits entry, make a backup plan to make online purchases.

Remember, if you are able to shop in person and you choose to do so, wear a mask, practice social distancing, and as always, be kind to your fellow shoppers. It’s been a crazy year for everyone, and we’re all looking to score some sweet deals this Black Friday.

Cyber Monday

Remember, if you can’t snag all the deals you planned to this Black Friday, Cyber Monday follows right afterward. Cyber Monday, for several years, has been the virtual answer to Black Friday. This year, companies are expecting to see the largest turnout for Cyber Monday ever.

As you scout for the best Black Friday deals, also keep your eyes peeled for exclusive, virtual Cyber Monday doorbusters.

This is a chance to score double the online savings between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so be sure to take advantage of the holidays and strategize for them both.
