After reports of serious food related illness in California and Maryland, Roos Foods recalled 16 varieties of its cheese products because of its being the cause of the listeria outbreak in the area. Mexicana, Amigo, Santa Rosa De Lima, Suyapa, La Chapina and La Purisima Crema Nica are some of the brands that were pulled out.
Mexicana seems to be the most popular brand affected – and as you can tell by the brands, it seems to be just Latin branded cheeses.
If you happen to buy any of the brands mentioned, don't eat it! Bring it back to the store for a refund.
