So good - I had to go back and do it again!

So, here is my first post...I am sooo addicted!

This is my 3rd week and things are finally going smoothly! I also met my first 2 angels at Holland's 16th St. Meijers & received a lot of tips (from Brenda -I think)! After reading so much about the Kellogg catalinas, I decided to head to Meijers early this morning and bought the cereal and poptarts to receive the $10 off your next order. So this is what I bought: 8 boxes of Kellogg cereal, 14 boxes of poptarts. Out of pocket (after the 3 $10's back & gas coupons) I spent $3.87. I was so excited, I went back late this afternoon and bought another 8 boxes of cereal, 14 boxes of poptarts, grapes, and Lysol toilet cleaner. My total out of pocket for the day was $13.40. I ended up with $60 savings on my next shopping order and $3 off gas! My total savings for the day was $99.26!

I can't wait to see what next week brings! I LOVED my savings!

Oh man..... :) I spent $91.65 and saved 71.84 at Meijer. Is that cool or what? :) At Walgreens I spent 52.26 and saved 37.55, at Dicks Market/Spartan, I did the math because of their bad receipts, and I spent 52.69 and saved 52.46. Total spent $204.55 and $161.85 SAVED!

How Much Food Can You Buy for $131.00?

Hey everybody , I wanted to share my success story this week, but as you can see I copied it and pasted it here ,from my posting on my MySpace. Yes, I admit, I advertise my "braggings" on there to all my friends each time I get killer deals. So far, it has touched a couple people and brought them here, but mostly has sent an unstoppable amount of questions my way about how I do this! I cannot stop sharing!

Are you STILL on the fence about trying Savings Angel?

Can I ask WHY??

Each week you purchase groceries you are literally flushing money down the toilet!

Without SA , this week I could have over spent more than $200.00! That is a doctor bill, prescriptions, heat or electric bill, phone bill or vacation money...

** My grocery check out clerk must have been new because when she was done scanning my groceries and then all 108 coupons I gave her, she gave me this look and said "I have never seen savings like that before!" I thought , "what!" I do this every time I shop now. To think I used to spend so much money , or I should say, waste so much money on food.

Look at my receipt, the paper was running out on the printer , that is why it is turning pink!!!

See the total savings..INCREDIBLE! If you have thought about trying it and have been sitting on the fence , why on earth are you still waiting?!

I purchased 166 items including cleaners, veggies , meat , snacks , pasta , sauces, canned meats, potatoes, frozen...you name it.

I paid .40 cents for an "on sale" bag of potatoes!
I paid .39 for frozen bags of veggies, also already on sale for a buck!
Pasta on sale for .99, I bought for .50... same prices for the spaghetti sauce!
I cannot even possibly list every example... but think about all the free stuff I got too!

Are you ready to save some major money yet?

Find out how easy it is to save this kind of money every time you shop for food and non-food items!

Still not sure about this whole thing? Still wondering if it is a gimmick or for real? If you can read a receipt , you can see the savings. All I am left to do is take you shopping with me.... I will if I have to!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grand total before Savings Angel: $213.26
I paid an incredible $7.20
I would say paying $5 a week to get all the info on how to get these deals each week is way worth it! It isn't like I am not going to eat or use it all!
The veggies were all free, I never paid a thing for them - or the soap. The toothbrushes were like .21 each and the hair products were under .50 each. The cat treats .12 each and the cereal ...all free as well. I had 6 friends who have joined Savings Angel since I started in November. I cannot even begin to add up all I have saved. Not to meantion all the free stuff I have gotten in the past 30 days. We are talking over $200.00 in Toilet paper , cough syrup, cereal, vegetables and soap alone!
If you want to check it out , It is West Michigan based and for $5 a week , it is well worth the investment when you are saving hundreds in groceries a month. My hubby spends about $5.00 on one pack of cigarettes a day! Obviously, this is way better of a deal than that! I am seeing my dollar stretch , not having the burning money away. lol He agrees, ask him! He will tell you it is the best opertunity ever and with the latest report from the New York Post and the local Wzzm 13 News about grocery costs are going to go up , this is the perfect way to help keep the cost down and fill your cupboards for a small fraction of the cost! They are saying produce costs per item alone is going up to over 6%! That is huge! You think milk is expensive , you just wait! Corn, wheat and dairy are ALL going to go up even more this summer!
Right now if you take a look at SavingsAngel and sign up, you can get two months for the price of one, with no added obligation. After the 60 days for 30 days price, you can cancel anytime with no questions asked.
>>>> Take a look and you will be shocked as to how much money you could be saving. You may even say, "I only buy what is on sale." well so do I and I am still saving over 60% or more on top of that each time I shop!
There are over 10,000 people in West Michigan on Savings Angel alone, and more across the State!
Well worth the investment I'd say! So if you are here on a two week trial membership , start plugging in now! Same thing goes for you 60 days for 30 days price people! Connect with some of us Angels here if you need help. We all want to help you get going fast , so you too can see the savings we are all seeing!
What made it even more fun was sharing with 3 Meijer cashiers. What a hoot!! One gal bagged all my groceries & loaded my cart, another put my register in "coupon accepting mode" so I would not have any problems ringing my coupons through, and when my transaction was complete they all huddled around the receipt dispenser to see how much I saved. It was so cute!! The head cashier said to me "You make sure next time you shop you come to my lane because I love seeing how much you save. I am so happy for you!"
They all asked where I got the Meijer coupons from. I shared with them the Meijer mealbox link (they all wrote it down ), about SavingsAngel and how it has truly changed my family's life. Not only has our grocery bill dropped dramatically, but our ability to give and share with others has increased tremendously!!
Saving Oodles of cash!
TALK ABOUT SAVING YOUR PENNIES!! This morning I made a trip to Meijer, with my two year old in tow, to do a little "Angel Shopping". I had a full grocery cart (I am talking filled to the max, overflowing, stuff falling out of my cart FULL)...it was CRAZY!!!
3 Vive Conditioners
3 Vive Shampoos
2 bags Meijer frozen Veggies
4 bottles of Sweet baby Rays BBQ sauce
12 Betty Crocker Cookie mix
9 Chex Mix
10 Betty Crocker Fruit snacks
1 Little Debbie Nutty Bars
1 Little Debbie snack cakes
2 Pillsbury Grand Biscuits
12 boxes Pizza rolls
3 bags Combos
2 boxes Handi-snacks
6 cans Chef Boyardee 3 Spray n' Wash Stain stick
2 Spray n' Wash Dual action
1 Spray n' Wash Trigger
9 Right Guard Deodorant
7 Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner
7 Lysol Multipurpose cleaner
4 Lysol Neutra air spray
5 Lysol Bathroom cleaner
12 Lunchables
6 Crest Toothpaste
4 Colgate Toothpaste
4 Meijer Spagh Sauce
2 cases Meijer brand bottled Water
Now mind you in the past having this many items in my cart would have sent me into instant "buyer's remorse". On the spot I would have had a little
pow-ow in my brain claiming "THAT I WILL MAKE THESE GROCERIES LAST UNTIL NEXT PAYDAY & I WILL NOT go back to the store for at least 2-3 weeks" (knowing full well that will never happen - we always needed something). Well not anymore; so sir-ree-bobber! Not only will these items last my family and I WAY BEYOND a couple of weeks, but I can't wait until next week to go shopping and SAVE SAVE SAVE some more ca$h-ola!!
I had to do a double take when the final amount due came up on the screen ~ $69.59. What was even more amazing was my TOTAL savings ~ $211.94! I knew I had got the most BANG FOR MY BUCK when I had to unload my 2 1/2 year old from the cart and carry him out in my arms just so all of the groceries would fit in the cart! NOW THAT'S A LOT OF STUFF! HIP HIP HOORAY FOR SAVINGSANGEL!
My hubby's now a believer!
Ok, so, I picked up a few groceries today... I took them all out of the car and my DH helped me... I could tell he was upset with me and I was not sure why... then he grabs the receipt from my hand and starts to look at it... I was not sure what was going on... So I asked him if he was mad at me... he looks at me and says... "yes, when you came home and started taking the groceries out of the car, I was a bit frustrated because I did not think that we needed THIS many groceries! I thought you spent enough on groceries this week.. But, then I looked at your receipt..."
This is what he saw...
3 pkg hamburg buns
2 pkg hotdog buns
2 boxes snack cakes
7 boxes ice cream bars
2 pkg frozen veggies (birdseye)
3 pkg vanity fair napkins
3 pkg french fries
2 gallons ice cream
6 boxes cereal
4 packages oncor meat
TOTAL paid out of pocket $26.61
coupon savings $41.90
my TOTAL savings ended up being $95.58
My DH is now not mad at me anymore! He was frustrated because he thought I had spent a ton of money on groceries this week! He was absolutely SHOCKED that I got all the groceries that I did for $26.61. He is now a true believer in SA! And he was pretty happy because the ice cream bars were for him...
Small week, big savings!!
Going through the ads this week, I found there really wasn't a whole lot that we needed. It seems that with a nice stockpile of food and supplies in the closet and in the freezer, I don't too often find there is anything I "need" to get, other than milk, eggs, and produce. But, my small grocery list turned into big savings this week!
I bought 14 boxes of cereal
11 bottles of salad dressing
4 gallons milk
4 boxes shells and cheese
2 packages kraft select singles
2 dozen eggs
miracle whip
grapes
and potatoes
I spent $39.30 -- I saved $74.49!
I had so much fun, I just might go back to the store and get some more cereal!! My hubby almost broke out into the "happy dance", and he doesn't dance! Saving is soooooooooo much fun!
Newbie, first shopping trip a HUGE success
So I am a Newbie Angel, and I have to say it is so fun! I went to Meijer tonight. I had a total savings of $127.96, (RETAIL: 274.18!!) with a final total of $146.22! My family eats tons of fresh produce so I spent a big chuck there. I had a great time shopping with my list and putting it all in my cart, checking and double checking my coupons and such. I received a Catilina as well, and did have to get 4 rain checks.
Next I hit Family Fare and Walgreens and got HUGE saving there too. I am so glad a friend told me about this site, and am addicted!
Savings and a new Vacuum
Okay. I'm cleaning my house yesterday, and my vacuum is sounding really weird. The brush motor kept quitting. Well, I just can't have that happening, because I've got out-of-town guests visiting us this weekend. So, I called my husband and said, "Punkinhead, we're going to need a new vacuum." He states that we can look at one while we're grocery shopping at Meijer.
Armed with all of my retail and Meijer coupons, we did our grocery shopping, plus I found a really great vacuum (Consumer Reports says it's one of the best on the market) for $149.99. I'm, of course, fired up, because if your vacuum doesn't work right, vacuuming isn't fun anymore.
After it was all said and done, I had $44.00 worth of retail/Meijer coupons, plus $73.78 in in-store savings for a total of $117.78 in savings. Plus, the vacuum was on sale for $134.99. Which basically means that I purchased an awesome vacuum for about $18.00!
Now, I normally don't get jazzed about things like vacuums, but thanks to Savings Angel showing me the way, I'm seriously jazzed.
Thanks so much, Savings Angel for "enlightening" me. You all are sooo appreciated!
Good Trip to Meijer
Had a few things to get. Turned out pretty good.
1 Philly Cream Cheese
2 Doritos (BOGO)
4 Steamfresh veggies
2 Meijer Potato Chips
2 Dean's Ice Cream (my kids will be so happy )
3 Capri Sun plus 1 FREE Nabisco Cookie snack pack (good lunch stuffers if I can keep em out of it before then)
4 Boxes Honey Bunches of Oats w/choc FREE
6 Boxes Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks
4 Boxes Lucky Charms
3 Boxes Cinnamon Toast Crunch
RETAIL $101.51
Total out of Pocket $40.76
Total savings $60.75
I think I might finally be ahead of my kids and their cereal addiction. AND with all the cereals they LOVE. Well the Honey Bunches of Oats is yet to be seen if they like. But for FREE, it's worth a try. If not, I will donate it (if I don't like it either) The nice thing is, after 1 month with SA, that is really all I needed to shop for this week. My freezer is still bulging at the seams...my cupboards are overflowing! I have not heard my kids say "MOM THERE IS NOTHING TO EAT" is about a month now...and that is a great feeling.
Also, I have plenty on hand for breakfast, lunch and dinner whether we are going to have a healthy, delicious (or DEEEEEE LISSSS OUS as my 3 yr old daughter says) but easy quick meals to have on the fly!
I did this deal 3 times yesterday and ended up with 64 items -
I've found that with SavingsAngel and coupons - the whole family eats more healthy!
Crazy, Crazy SAVINGS!
It's already been said dozens and dozens of times, but shopping was absolutely CRAZY this week! I went to Meijers today and was pleasantly surprised to see great inventory levels on everything! My full retail price was $371.63...paid $117.30...saved $254.33...68.4% SAVINGS! I was hoping to hit $100 in coupons but came out at $98.55...can you believe I was actually a little bummed!! You know you're addicted when you're a little bummed about coming up $1.45 short on coupons!
On a funny note, I had soooo many coupons that the register stopped scanning them and gave the cashier a message she had never seen before. She called the Head Cashier over, who also had never seen the message before. It said something about exceeding a limit! Anyway...they simply manually added up my remaining coupons and entered them as one lump sum! Too funny! She was actually laughing! I told her, "you can call me crazy!"... She replied..."No, you're not crazy...you're an expert at this!"
If you add my Meijer savings to my other stops this week (Orchards for $1.95/gallon milk and WalMart where I pricematched Crest toothpaste (13 for FREE that are actually headed to South America in my friends suitcase), my final week tally is:
Full Regular Price: $430.09...paid $129.00...saved $301.49... 70% SAVINGS! OMG! OMG! OMG! Way tooooo much FUN!
Coupons before and after SavingsAngel
Before Savings Angel, I only used a "few" coupons once in a while and wondered why people even use them. What was a .50 cent coupon going to do for our budget! I was in line today at Family Fare and had the cashier, the bagger, and the lady in line behind me all amazed! They were astonished that I had a coupon for every single item that I was buying. I laughed and said that it was the only way I shopped now, thanks to Savings Angel and handed them each a card of how they can do it too!
- Julie
Checking the numbers...
I managed to literally fill up a shopping cart today with pasta, sauce, tortilla chips, frozen veggies and potatoes and had coupons for every last one of them. Final bill came up to just $31 with a normal retail of about $65! (even though last week I think it would have been closer to 10-15 ). After just 5 weeks of doing this now, we probably have enough pasta and sauces for the next 3-4 months, toothpaste and deodorant for the next year, plenty of cleaning supplies, and are generally stocked on all our essentials except for milk/dairy/bread for at least 2-3 weeks. All this and we beat our best month in family history on groceries (going back to 1997 in quicken) by about $50 last month, and I think we'll only be about 2/3 of that cost this month!
Great Results At Family Fare (if Only I Had Gone Without Kids)
Went to Hudsonville Family Fare yesterday while my 5 year old was in dance class to seek out the Honey Bunches of Oats with Chocolate for which I still had $2 coupons. Indeed, the chocolate is included in the sale. I bought 6 boxes ($24 retail value), on sale for $2, and had 6 - $2 coupons. I would have escaped without spending a dime but my 3 year old wanted a doughnut and my 10 month old was screaming so I bought graham crackers. I think it should be mandatory that we be allowed to shop without kids!
Saving BIG in Metro Detroit!
I joined SA in Nov 08. For the first several weeks I wasn't really seeing the savings I had read about from other members, so I wasn't sure if it was going to be worth it. However, prior to joining, my husband and I were confident it was the right thing for us to do so I persisted. Boy, am I glad I did! January was my largest savings month, totaled I saved $200 on my grocery bills for the month. Not only that but I am excited to say that I have started a food storage! Also, because of my savings and food storage we were able to bless a family (4 kids, and the husband had just lost his job) with 4 bags of groceries. Without SA I never would have been able to accomplish that! It's exciting that out of our abundance (thanks in large part to SA) we are able to help provide for those in need!
I am excited every week to prepare my grocery list and coupons and look forward to seeing how much more my grocery bills can improve! Love it!
Doubling Coupons in Metro Detroit!
I ended up getting 2 large packages Scott toilet paper, 2- 8 packs of Scott paper towels, 2 packages of Schick razors, 6 Suave body washes, 1 large bag of Fit & Trim dog food, 1 smaller bag of Nutrish dog food, 1 bag of Purina cat food, 1 Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil, 1 package of Venus razors, 2 bottles of Johnson & Johnson body lotion, 1 bottle of Nivia bottle lotion,1 Secret Flawless deodorant, 2 cans of Purina dog food, 2 3-packs of Trident gum.
I thought it was pretty good for $55 (Retail: $130!) That's over $75 savings! Saving 58%!
I later went to CVS and got 2 packs of Gillette razors, shaving cream, Bayer asprin, 2 tubes of Crest toothpaste, 4 cans of Progresso soup. Out of pocket $12, and I received $8.89 in CVS Extra Care Bucks.
I love shopping this way!
What to do with little $$$$
My husband gave me the bad news on Friday.....I could only have $50 to shop with this weekend. I'm sure you could all guess my answer to that...... Then I thought, I've had less and made it a challenge to get as much as I could. This is what I did: I went to Dierbergs, Walgreens and Aldi.
At Dierbergs I bought 5 pkgs of meat, 1 lg bunch of bananas, 3 boxes of cereal, 6 pks Tuna, 1- 2 lt of Diet Dr Pepper, 1 Kashi Meal, 5 Secret Platinum, and 4 McCormick spices. At Walgreens, I bought 22 Mentos Gum, 4 pints Walgreens ice cream, 2 Right Guard deodorant, 1 Bic Solile Cartridge and 3 Reynold's wrap. At Aldi, I bought 1 Gallon of milk and 1 lb of bacon.
I payed a total of $46.46 and saved $66.73. I also went back to Dierbergs and got my Free gallon of milk yesterday.
SA is still great even on a small budget.....Just look out for me this next weekend!
My First SA Trip
I joined SAVINGS ANGEL on February 12th. I was a bit skeptical of the thought that I had to spend money to save money. I thought I would give it a try anyway. Well here is what my first shopping trip looked like on February 14th:
My total bill was $89.29 (I then handed the cashier my pile of coupons)
The total dropped to $31.35
I received $15.93 in Walgreens rebates from the Easy Saver catalog which brought my total down to $15.42! But wait that's not all (I know I sound like an infomercial!)
I also received $7.00 in register rewards.
So my total out of pocket after coupons, rebates and register rewards...
$8.42!!
This is what I bought for $8.42:
2 boxes Fiber one cereal
1 box Cinnamon toast crunch cereal
2 boxes Lucky charms cereal
2 boxes Quaker instant oatmeal
2 rolls Bounty Basic paper towels
4 boxes Hefty storage boxes
1 tube Colgate toothpaste
1 Colgate wave toothbrush
1 Gillette fusion power razor
1 4-pack Energizer AAA batteries
1 box Zucol cold medicine
1 4-pack Schick razors
1 Thermacare heat wrap
1 12.6oz Joy dish soap
On February 27th I went to Walgreens again... My total bill was $70.73 (Retail) and after coupons, rebates and register rewards my total bill was $19.92!
I have also saved lots of money at Schnucks, Dierbergs, Target and Shop n' Save! Thank you Savings Angel!!!
- Tracy in O'Fallon, MO
Talking My experience
I have been on the program for just around a month and I have saved over 50% each time I shop. Having a teenager at home it helps to have something around to eat at all times. Yesterday I realized that my freezer is full to the limit and I am going to have to set up a food storage in my basement.
Yesterday I shopped at Rainbow... $37 total with a $45 savings.
- Jody in Richfield, MN
Party My Savings
I am absolutely THRILLED with how much I saved this week.
Went to Walgreens with a store coupon and individual coupons, plus a $6.00 off coupon from a previous purchase for the Northern and Bounty. The toilet paper and paper towels were $6.49 each, plus a $1.00 off each one, and the $6.00 coupon, my grand total was $5.32 for both. I was OVERJOYED! Total savings: 62%.
Then I was off to Cub Foods for even more savings. With all the coupons I had and pairing them up with the fabulous sales, all in all I saved 60% there as well this week.
SavingsAngel is definitely my Angel!
Savings Angel: A Real Economic Stimulus Plan!
One of the most rewarding parts of being a member of SavingsAngel for me is sharing the savings with other families who are struggling during these difficult economic times. Surprisingly, I have never been much of a salesperson when it comes to any product or service, but that was before I became an Enlightened Shopper with the help of SavingsAngel. Now, I can be heard talking about SA at home, at work, at church, at family gatherings, and just about everyplace in between. I have even been known to call friends and family on my cell phone upon leaving a store just to share with them the great deals I just snagged as a result of my Enlightened Shopping list. What can I say? I just can’t keep such a good thing to myself. I guess that is why I have had so many people join SA as a result of me sharing the good news with them.
But having people join under my affiliate ID and supply a commission has nothing to do with why I’m such a fan of the referral program. I love checking in with all of my fledgling angels just to see how well they are doing with shopping and saving. They always enthusiastically share with me their success stories.
With the help of SA, my pastor’s wife, Carrie, is able to do much more for our frequent “Servant Saturdays”, handing out nice hot coffee to people waiting in line during the Christmas rush, providing chocolates for Valentine’s Day to our local school staff, and grilling up hot dogs for our community picnics.
My coworker, Cheryl, is able to squirrel away money for a tropical getaway for her family.
My neighbor, Melissa, is paying off debt so that she and her family can enjoy a debt-free lifestyle.
My mom, Lorna, drops off donations at Christian Neighbors each week and boy are they happy to see her coming!
You see, Savings Angel is not a gimmick or a get-rich-quick scheme. It is a whole new way of thinking about the way you spend, save, and give to others. And once you see how the SA way can lead to a life of abundance for you and everyone you share it with, well, you – like me – are hooked!
Home Schooler MAKES money from her membership!
As a stay-at-home-homeschooling-mom of ten children and also making lifestyle changes since my husband was laid off and is now in the midst of establishing his own business, we have been learning together, and SavingsAngel has been a part of this. The idea of spending $19.95 a month on SavingsAngel was not something we could really afford, but quickly learned it was something we could not afford NOT to do!
We quickly learned that we were missing out on many opportunities of saving and building a pantry as we tried it out. I began sharing with friends, and also wrote about SavingsAngel on my blog, Writing Canvas which is one of my top posts with the most hits! People want to learn how to save money. Little did I realize with sharing this, I would MAKE money!
I no longer pay $19.95 a month for SavingsAngel. I make money because of those who have signed up from my link with my personal ID in it. Since I receive $10 for each new person that signs up and then $5 per month, per person that stays on, it not only pays for my SavingsAngel membership but gives me extra cash! Every so often I also post on my FaceBook a picture of my receipt, especially if I have saved more than I spent! It gets inquiries and others NEED to save, and give it a try. It is a learning experience for my whole family that has even been incorporated into our homeschooling curriculum, teaching our children why math is important, and teaching them about saving. I invite you to give it a try. This is one of those things that you don't lose out on!
