Trying to Rebuild

Extreme Couponing

Rate this Entry
First let me start with this. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Whew, ok that's a little better...lol I love the extreme couponing show don't get me wrong but it is so frustrating at the same time. Making a stockpile, I think that is a great idea. Donating, I think that is a great idea. What's frustrating is when I can't match the savings that these people get when i am in desperate need of those kind of savings. This lady has 3, dedicated coupon computers in her home. I just recently got the laptop that i am typing this rant on and had been using my mother's or other friends in order to get what i needed done. How in the world are they getting this many coupons? Where are these stores? I am starting to believe some of the talk about they are doubling coupons that shouldn't be or discounting things for the added suspense and drama of the show. Another thing I don't get, why are soe elements of the show so secretive. There are plenty of us that need to learn from this and learn how to do this but the store logos are hidden, sites they use are hidden etc., Why wouldn't this knowledge be shared especially with this economy. I am a single mother of two boys getting no assistance, I NEED TO KNOW THIS!!! I will continue to study every aspect of SA like I am studying for my LVN licensure exam so that when my health, timing and circumstances allow my arsenal will be ready. Until then i guess i will just bang my head against a wall in frustration and keep trying to figure this out. Again thanks to all those that have been reading my blogs and leaving comments. I love feedback aff or neg. I appreciate the interaction and i won't shoot the messenger I promise. If you haven't read my blog titled Fibromyalgia, please do and gain some understanding about someone that does have this disorder and how hard and troubling it can be. Please leave comments. Well, it's back from commercial. Time to wrack my brain some more on how inthe world they do this. Maybe i need to move to a new state or something, I have yet to see any of this go down in Texas.

I wouldn't try too hard to match the savings on Extreme Couponing. There is an investigation going on about whether what they did was legal or not. It appears they committed coupon fraud by using high value coupons on the wrong items in order to get them free to make their savings look better. At SavingsAngel, we follow the rules and still save a ton of money. Feel free to let me know if you ever need coupons. I get quite a few.

Yeah i heard about that through another site. One lady in particular had even posted a video on youtube about how she fradulently used coupons on youtube but the video was quickly pulled for copyright issues. It is broken down in minute detail here. http://jillcataldo.com/node/16258 She very obviously was doing things fradulently and she should be ashamed of herself. And isn't that like felony theft. I am all about doing things the honest way and I am a firm believer in that the best way is not always the easiest or quickest way. So I will continue to study and try my best.

I have been watching the Extreme Coupon Show and I noticed that many of the people that are shopping are using coupons that are for example .75 and the store they are shopping at is doubling the coupon. The stores here in my area will only double up to .50 and anything higher is face value. I would love to double a .75 coupon. I can tell by looking at the some of the stores..a few of them look like Kroger.

I have seen a Shop N' Save on one of them I think. But there are a lot of elements that stay hidden on the show like it is a big secret. I noticed that to. I didn't think they doubled a coupon that large. I figured maybe it was just a Texas thing because i haven't seen a single trip done in Texas, they are all out of state from me.

I wonder if any legal powers are waatching and would consider that fraud. Violating coupon redemptions laws is considered a felony so why wouldnnt doubling coupons that normally wouldn't for entertainment purposes. it makes it really hard for people starting off because we think we can save a smuch money and make such an extravagant trip and maybe change our individual financial situations if we can shop with $10 each week. Yes I am aware the show is titles "Extreme" but can we at least be realistic. We can't show extreme couponing within the realm of possibility?

i have watched the show and honestly it makes me more angry then anything. I know what they are doing isn't that ideal for everyone. There are not many stores that double or places that give you that many coupons or anything. My sister, one of her friends and i gator dive here in michigan for coupons. We always replaace with more paper then we take. But there are lots of coupons that people don't use. I almost feel like more people are doing this thinking they can get to be like those EXTREME COUPONERS but sorry to tell you, that isn't going to happen in the average world. Not that i am saying you can't come close but a weekly grocery of $30 is not going to make it. SORRY

Kroger does double coupons up to a dollar in some areas, the only one I know of here in Michigan is in Saginaw. VG's also will double up to 1.00 but up to only 3 like coupons and if you want to do a seperate order you have to take your current order out to the car and come back in and shop. They won't let you just split it up and use your coupons to get more than 3 to double. It really depends on where you live. When I used to work in Saginaw I did do my shopping there and was once able to do a shopping trip worth 630.00 for 18.00. It is possible but not in many areas. Those are the areas they are showing on extreme couponing not the more realistic scenerios where that majority of the pop shops.

That show has pretty much ruined it for the rest of us. At least in my market (west michigan). Outside a few items at the drug stores there really have not been may good deals in the last 6 months. I used to be able to get $100 dollars worth of groceries at meijer for 15 buck, but not anymore. I think the manufacturers are watch the coupon expiration dates closer. I think they are timing it so they expire before they start there round of sales. They used to start there sales a week before it expired, but not anymore. Plus when is the last time you seen a deal where you get $ off your next purchase for cereal? It seems now you can't get it for under a dollar a box. I miss the days for getting it free.
